ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Presented in the following sections are overviews of academic projects I have worked on over the course of my learning experience at Wentworth.

UTOPIA BEAUTY MARKET

To be REMARKABLE.

Utopia Beauty Market is a concept for a hair and beaty supply store for BIPOC women, derived from the personal experiences of going to these kinds of establishments targeting this audience, women like me, and being unfulfilled by the service(s).

This concept aims to evolve the individual experience for a BIPOC woman shopping in this environment, identifying the areas that would capture and retain them based on their interests, needs and opinions of the current market offerings.

THE BLUEPRINT BY M.J. IDEA PITCH

The Business Pitch.

The Blueprint by M.J. LLC is an event planning company I founded, specializing in catering, event design, and DJ services. We are located in Boston, MA servicing Greater Boston for a wide variety of events ranging from luncheons to sports banquets.

I founded this company prior to taking Intro to Technology Entrepreneurship as a course at Wentworth, and using it for our class assignment, the business pitch. For this assignment I was assigned to pitch my business idea to "investors" (my classmates), answer their questions and gather takeaways to incorporate into my idea or decide against the adoption.

ROYAL CARIBBEAN CRUISES LTD.

Where extraordinary happens.

Serving as a semester long project in Operations Management, I reviewed Royal Caribbean Cruises from an operations standpoint, analyzing and evaluating the given case study to highlight pain points, causation, and practical solutions. This information was organized in poster form.

STRIVE WENTWORTH

Vocational and transitional opportunities.

STRIVE students represent the diversity of backgrounds and neighborhoods in Boston and each student comes with a wide variety of unique learning needs. Many students participate in substantially separate educational settings or have been identified as at-risk. This may include students who are not diploma-bound, students who have not met graduation requirements, and students who have not passed state required achievement tests after multiple attempts. All of our students need assistance with the transition from high school to their individual post-secondary options.

                                                                                                              -STRIVE Wentworth

This project required my team and I to learn about this training program and work alongside a representative to understand the students they serve, what the company currently struggles with and what they are looking to incorporate into their current services. Based upon the information we gathered and areas of opportunity we identified, we were able to organize our solutions into a presentation and present them to the STRIVE representative.
